Palmer went on to welcome her son Leodis "Leo" in February 2023. "It was crazy! Because first of all I mean, it was a great opportunity.SNLhas been around forever. I love doing sketch comedy," said Palmer. "And I just remember being pregnant and being like, 'Okay, I'm going to reveal it on the show tonight.'" "So you saved it for that moment?" asked host Jennifer Hudson. "I did, because I kept thinking to myself like, 'When am I going to say that I'm pregnant?' You don't want to be like, 'I'm going to announce it.' But you do gotta let folks know," Palmer shared. "And so I was like, do I do it with pictures online? No, that doesn't feel right. Do I say it? And then I heard I was going to be hosting and I said, 'This is when I'll do it.'" In December 2022, Palmer announced she waspregnantandexpecting her first babywith her then-boyfriendDarius Jackson, revealing the newswhile hosting the sketch comedy show for the first time. "There's some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, 'Keke's having a baby, Keke's pregnant,' and I wanna set the record straight — I am!" Palmer exclaimed, ripping open a long jacket toreveal her growing baby bumpon the Studio 8H stage. "I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y'all, but it's even worse when they're correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?" she continued. "... But honestly, this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I'm going to be a mom." That February, Palmerwelcomed her son, sharing some of their first family photos on Instagram. This past March, Palmer spoke with PEOPLE and shared that sheowes her vibrance to motherhoodand her toddler son. "I attribute it to self-love, which has been ignited even more so by my son," she said. "You know, when you have a kid, you're always trying to figure out what you can do better, how you can be better for the child, and loving yourself to me is No. 1."
