During an appearance onTaste of Country Nights with Evan Paul, the "Redneck Woman" singer spoke about how she "shattered" her leg at a wedding. Wilson, 51, suffered the injury while dancing with a 6-year-old. "You gotta watch them younger men, they'll get ya every time," she joked about her dance partner. The Grammy winner said that at the wedding, she was doing "Ring Around the Rosie" when it happened. "We were at a wedding reception and it was on the beach, so they had thrown one of those Astroturf carpeting things over the sand," she recalled. Wilson added that during the circle dance, she was "doing the spin at 100mph" and her ankle hit one of the pockets on the Astroturf laid out. "It was ugly." "You seen those videos online with the foot hanging the wrong way? It was one of those. Once I went down, I did not get back up." The injury was a "setback" for her, leaving her in a wheelchair for months. At the end of her healing period, Wilson was contacted for a show that would get her back on her feet:The Masked Singer. "All the choreography, it was stressful, but it was good for me. It was hard work. It was really good for me and I proved a lot to myself," she said. The country star was on the 13th season of Fox's reality singing competition series and won as Pearl.She told PEOPLEthat she wanted another character,Andy Grammeras Boogie Woogie, to win. "I was absolutely positive that Boogie won," she said of the runner-up. "I thought he was just the most amazing singer. In my head, he had won it weeks before. I was so stunned because I had myself ready to hear that I was second place. I was so ready for it, I had already decided that that's what it should be in my head."
