During an appearance onTODAY with Jenna & Friendson Thursday, May 29, the "Blindsided" singer opened up about her plans after wrapping Kelsea Ballerini Live on Tour and her first season as a coach onThe Voice. "I need a break!" Ballerini, 31, said. She continued, "And I've never been able to say that before, but I really think it's just time for me to pump the brakes, figure out what's next, have a summer, what?! Go to the beach? Huh? Learn to cook a new meal, hang out with the dogs, so that's kind of my agenda." Though this is the plan, Ballerini said that "every time I say that I have time off, something happens." "But I'm very open to whatever is out there," she said. When asked if she'd return toThe Voice, the "Peter Pan" singer said "never say never." "I think ending my first arena tour, ending my first time onThe Voice, it's just been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I've ever done and it's been really fulfilling. I love being in that seat," she explained. Emma McIntyre/Getty Ballerini wrapped her North American tour on April 13 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario after kicking off on Jan. 21 in Grand Rapids, Mich.. The tour supported Ballerini's latest studio albumPatterns, which she released in October 2024. In March, she shared a deluxe version of the record with five new songs. "It's always been at the top of my bucket list to tour arenas," sherecently told PEOPLEin a cover story interview. "Historically there's not a lot of women in our genre that have made that jump to arenas," said Ballerini. "I had to do it right because I couldn't fail — not just for myself but because I want to contribute to the history of women in country music." At the time, Ballerini also opened up aboutPatterns,which was the result of self-exploration. "I'm very aware of my flaws. I have a relationship with them, and I do the work to keep growing up and growing out of certain things," she said, "but in the same breath, I fully accept and celebrate myself right now.
