Kristina Bumphrey/Variety via Getty Elizabeth Banks tells PEOPLE about her experience working alongside Jessica on their new Prime Video series,The Better Sister Banks also reveals that she "had only ever heard" good things about Biel prior to them working together "You can't pay someone in town to say a bad word about this lady," she says Jessica Bielhas a perfect reputation in Hollywood — andElizabeth Bankscan attest to it. The actresses star as estranged sisters in Prime Video'sThe Better Sister, but before working together, Biel and Banks had only met briefly and "did not know each other well," Banks tells PEOPLE. "So we really got to know each other through doing this together." Banks wasn't exactly nervous about what was to come from Biel, though, considering she "had only ever heard" good things. "You can't pay someone in town to say a bad word about this lady," she reveals. "So I had only ever heard the loveliest things." "I had reliable sourcing that this was going to be easy and it was," Banks, 51, says. "She completely lived up to that reputation of just being kind and generous and talented and beautiful and fun and easy, and it all worked out." Todd Williamson/January Images/Shutterstock Banks also says that the good things she'd heard about her costar were trustworthy because "Hollywood knows." "We root out the bad ones," she reveals. "You can't really hide." Biel, 43, agrees. "You can't hide from us," she says of how word travels in Hollywood. The7th Heavenalum also returns the compliment for her costar, telling PEOPLE that "there was nothing anyone ever said that was a negative comment about Elizabeth." "Just fun, smart, does everything, so beyond incredible, funny, all the things that everybody knows about her from her work, all is of course true," Biel says. Jojo Whilden/Prime But it was more than just that — the actresses also bonded over the "nuance-y things" that they didn't realize they had in common. Namely, that they're both moms of two boys. "We just mom vibed immediately," Biel says. "It was kind of just, oh, we could be friends — if we were at the same school, we would be friends." The murder "sends shockwaves through the family, reuniting the two sisters as they try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death" in the eight-episode series based onAlafair Burke's 2019 book.
